It should get in next week, I'm running an old Hayes in the meantime. My LBS could not shorten the front hose cause they didn't have DOT 4 oil in stock.

Congratulations, Jozz! It only took, what, 19 months for the frame to come in? :D

Very nice indeed. Where does the line start for Monkeyfest test rides? :)

I'm curious (this goes for all you Talas/Blur users), what made you decide to go with the Talas?
For me I'm a big Fox fan, rode a RL100 all last year and loved it!

Wnet for the Talas just for the heck of it basically, was only a few buck mores. I might end up riding it always at 100mm, but for those long downhill going to 130mm should be fun, at worst as Deyv suggested it I might transfer it to my Chameleon.

All this talk about Santa Cruz not allowing a 130mm fork on the Blur and yet they shipped me the frame and fork no questions asked...

Jozz,

That thing is stealthily sweet! Nice rig! Can't wait to see it up close at Monkeyfest - if not sooner!!

Let us know how you like it after getting some trail time in on it.

Congrats!!

Did the maiden voyage wednesday night, and all I can say is  :dancing:

That is the best bike I ever ridden, good in all condition, going up almost like a hartail and going down is plush as my girlfriend's bottom!! ;) I love the feel of the 5th, riding along on hardpack with the rear end feeling stiff and feeling no energy loss on all pedal stroke, hit a rooty rocky section and the 5th opens up on the rest of the travel... sweet!

Only problem, cockpit is too small, I'm too forward on the bike with the Thomson zero offset post. I just ordered an Easton EC70 with 40mm setback, plus 10mm on the stem from 90 to 100 and it will be perfect!!

Hopes are wonderfull, although almost bit the dust on the first descent... forgot about breakin period... had to hit back brake full power to make the turn!

This week-end will be the real test!

How was the Talas with the Blur? What did you have the travel set to?
Ran it half ride at 100mm other half at 110mm, didn't much difference cause the trail only have short climbs. Did one sketchy descent set at full travel, felt good! I need to adjust stem height since the LBS put all the spacers (1 inch) below the stem, its a bit hight even at 100m.

I have to admit that I might look into making a trade for a Minute 3.00 SPV if I get the chance...
