I just bought a used frame that uses a 6.5" eye-to-eye rear shock. It came with a '99 Vanilla R and a Stratos Helix of some sort.

Both of them work somewhat, but they certainly don't feel great. Can I get either of them serviced. Push's website says they do '00 and newer Vanilla R's and '99 and newer Vanilla RC's. I don't have any experience with either type of shock. Are either worth having serviced?

Are there any modern coil shocks available in 6.5"? I know Romic made some that small, but I can't find any, anywhere.

Any suggestions?

That is a stinker. The basic size for the coil shocks today are like 7.5 eye to eye. Push will work wonders on any shock so i would go for it. Unless you want to try the stratos.

Stratos' website is down, but was up a few weeks ago. Does anyone have recent experience with them? Are they still manufacturing/rebuilding products?

Anyone want to chime in as to whether Push would touch a '99 Vanilla R?

Anyone have any other suggestions?
