We didn't quite make it to the east coast as we had originally planned so we had to make due with a West Coast road trip.

First leg of the trip, Mammoth.
first off, you have to drive there, at 4:00AM (that translates to 4:45AM Lovebunny standard time).

Can't remember if this is day 2 or 3 of our riding but all is from Mammoth, y'all.


TJ led for the most part of the day and loved being followed closely.

After getting a beatdown at Mammoth, we hiked the Postpile area.




We left Mammoth on Tues at 1:30AM for the Yosemite Valley.
Started hiking to Half Dome at 4AM. 8mi seem harmless then.


Gnneeee....


6 hrs later, Half Dome, checked off our to-do list!!!


Looking for an easier way down back to the Valley.


Orven caught picking his nose on the edge.

21 miles, 11 hrs and 4800 ft of elevation gain and loss later, it was all worth it.


Then a lil R&R at The Rock/SF and Calistoga.



No firewoods here. :p


Then we rode (or tried to) Northstar today.


We were still sore from the long hike and our bodies just can't hack it today. The old school trails were rougher and meaner.



Oz was all over the place too. Live wire was closed today. :(

Day two at North Star:
We didn't take many pics at all since Orven and I split up to do our own thing.


Boondocks was fun. The lower part had new stunts on it and Orven ended up being a passenger than the driver of his bike.


On this trip, UST tubeless ROCKED! Unless you pick up a nail or wood chip or whatever that was I picked up near the village.


Gnar* wrapped up our resort stop.

Last stop, Downieville.
Downieville is so bike-everything that even our shared patio had bikes from our neighbors.


If you're the uppity and on-the-go type, Downieville will be too slow for you.
Nothing and noone starts/opens here earlier than 9am.


We're still waiting...

Fun high speed part. This is where we started picking off the XC riders (politely of course).





Rippin thru the singletracks at DV made Orven and myself fall in love with mountain biking all over again.

Trying to hack it despite bruises and fatigue from 2 days of beatdown at North Star.

Deja Vu - that was me last time and Ozzer had to help load my buddy into the truck (he was on a backboard).:poster_oops:


Looks like an awesome trip!

-BB- and I did the same trip, just on a smaller scale a few weeks back. I would have posted a ride report... but I busted my Camera on day2.

Oh well... at least I didn't break myself this time!!!
