‎12 years ago we adopted a fat little Husky pup from a friends dogs litter. He traveled the world with us, from Washington to Germany, to California and back to Germany. He stepped paw by my count, in 7 countries and 10 states... along the way he killed cats, rabbits, chickens (Which I paid for...) and birds, went nose to nose with horses, zebras, wildschwein, rattlesnakes, hog nose snakes, llamas and babes in bikinis (Gotta love Malibu...).
He protected 2 little babies and was a good pal to a bigger kid. He was a cool and reserved presence in the house, and a lively and curious trail buddy. Friday, his journey came an end...I have lost my hiking buddy and my best, fuzziest pal.
RIP to the best free dog ever, my pal Chacko. I will think of you ever day, and every time I lace up my hikers...and every time I lift my leg to pee on a tree...
