I just received my flat top crown for a slider plus and noticed a few differences between the flat and drop top crown. The flat crown seems way beefier and takes four bolts to hold on the stanchions as opposed to just two for the drop crown. It's noticeably heavier when picking up the two.

Can someone help me make some sense of this? Not a big deal, just curious.

Looks normal to me...

I'd check the threads/bolts though as another member had a hell of a time with is Sherman crown. I think he stripped the bolts because they were too soft and the threads were kinda crappy. Run a bolt through each one just to make sure all threads are OK.

Put some greese on them, tighten them down, and bolt that puppy up!

Yeah, they're both normal, they're just quite a bit different in terms of weight and thickness. The flat has additional bolts too (will be replaced with SS bolts, thanks for the advice). I'm thinking if one bolt and lighter weight is good enough for the tall crown then why the extra beef on the flat crown?
