2011 Youth Racing Camp
Presented by: GROM Race Team

August 1 - 4
Overview:

Returning for the 3rd straight year, the 2011 Youth Racing Camp will be hosted by Christopher Herndon and the GROM Racing Team. Herndon’s reputation for dominating races across the Eastern US is well known along with his 1st place finish at the 2007 National Championships and his 2 appearances at the UCI World Championships. Herndon’s passion for winning races is equaled by his passion for coaching and helping young riders reach their true potential both on and off the race course. Since the inception of TEAM GROM, Coach Herndon is taking his place among the top racing coaches in the country with his students dominating the podiums on both regional and national stages.

Alongside Coach Herndon will be TEAM GROM Coach and 2 time World Championship Racer Tim Price. Price is no stranger to the podium himself; finishing in the top 3 places at over a dozen national and state events throughout his racing career in addition to a top 25 finish at the Junior World Championship in New Zealand in 2006. Together Herndon and Price have racked up over 25 years of competitive racing experience and have a wealth of knowledge and training secrets to share during this year’s Formula Racing Camp.

This Youth specific Race Camp is unlike any other Bike Camp in the Nation. It’s designed to sharpen riding skills and turn recreational junior riders into competitive racers who have fun and are both confident and competitive on and off the race track.

Coaches Herndon and Price will concentrate on all aspects of DH racing, not just riding. They will cover multiple training techniques to achieve and maintain optimum fitness as well as share specific techniques to prepare both physically and mentally for a race run. At the end of each day of riding, there will be a focus on proper bike cleaning techniques. Bike set up and maintenance will be covered in depth as well. With their experience in qualifying for National and World Championships, Herndon and Price will spend the evenings discussing with campers the races they need to focus on for qualifying and petitioning for these events. Campers are strongly encouraged to compete in Race II of the Powerade Race Series (July 31) as timed runs on this race course throughout the camp will provide detailed feedback of improvements and progression.

somewhere really ****ty
at the listed price I could easily enroll in some over 18 camp in the future especially with the lodging (lack of) rates and what seems to be non existant lift fees... It just about costs 300 bucks for only 2 nights of lodging already without a lift ticket or anything.
