This coming weekend (August 27/28), Snowshoe is offering a Women's Gravity Camp, and it is an incredible deal.* The purpose of the camp is to introduce women to downhill mountain biking, and to improve the skills of those who already have some familiarity with it.* The cost of the camp is $109 per person (double occupancy), or $149 per person (single occupancy), and includes the following:
*
-Two nights lodging (Friday and Saturday)
-Social hour Friday evening (including drinks)
-Breakfast and lunch Saturday and Sunday
-Morning yoga for cyclists Saturday and Sunday
-Full day of downhill instruction Saturday and Sunday
-Chair massages and social hour (with drinks) Saturday evening
-Two day downhill bike rental with body armor, helmet and lift ticket/trail pass
-Maximum coach to participant ratio of 1:6
*
To put this in perspective, normally a 2.5-hr lesson with bike rental is $99 per person, or $129 for 3.5 hours.* A full day rental without instruction is $149.* We have three female coaches on board (myself, Maggie Keller and Angie Weston (Kona rep), all certified by IMIC to teach downhill).* Skill levels of participants will range from little or no skills to fairly advanced bike handling skills, and we will split into groups based on skills and interests of the participants*after the first morning session. We have three excellent male coaches on standby in case we end up with more than three groups.* If anyone is interested, this is a great low-cost opportunity to check out downhill for the first time, or tune up their skills.
*
See you on the hill,
