Check out the '08 Kapu!
Steel, polished lugs, sooooo awesome and retro and cool.
My first "real" road bike was an older Kapu, like a '95 or '96 or something. Great bike. I miss it sometimes, I didn't appreciate it when I had it, I was more into my DH bike at the time...

Edit - Stupid me, here's the link:

with double rings... why don't they just automatically go compact?

Yup, nice lugs.
It's kind of refreshing actually. Steel bikes look better with standards I think honestly.
Some silver or polished cranks would be super sweet on that thing.

Thats a hella slack headtube angle. I actually was just looking at all the Kona Rodies. I never even knew they made them until your Paddy Wagon thread. I almost bought a Stinky once though. I love their FR/DH stuff.

Yeah, it is, old school for sure.
I'm not really into most of their other road bikes though, they're still mostly an MTB company.

It does not ruin it for me. It certainly is atypical. An interesting discussion starter while out on the road.

I don't love the bike either.

There might be some up on his web site. I know he uses lugs from Kirk Pacenti
oh, Pacenti... people need to becareful who they associate with. Right or wrong, I'm sure wrong, I'm off on Pacenti right now as he partnered up with someone I'm not happy with.

Lugs are awesome tho.

Still pissed off at the Rawland folks are ya??
:busted:
Not pissed, just will never do business with them. It's how I am in all aspects of commerce.

What can I say, I'm in marketing and take business relationships and practices probably too seriously.

Yes, he makes brilliant lugs and if Sacha uses him, that means a lot.

It's two seperate issues. I'm not saying anything negative about the quality of his work.

yeah, i wasn't saying i don't like lugs. i just think that one lug is off and it throws the entire bike off as well.
and i'm not saying i don't like kona. i worked in a shop that carried them for a long time and they are a great company that makes some pretty stellar products that not many ppl recognize.
