Steerer Tube Question??

I got a 2000 z.1 used, the fork was in great shape, but the steer tube was questionably short (which is why it was so cheap). I had thought that it was a pinch bolt variety, but it turns out that it is not??? So, my question is do I have to replace the whole crown/steer tube assembly? Or is there a way to replace just the steerer tube?? If I have to replace it does anyone have one for sale??

You may be able to do it yourself with the right tools and if you're careful. We can press in/out steerer tubes at the shop, and we've been 100% successful and had no problems doing this after 2 years. So yes, with the right tools you can swap steerer tubes out of those crowns.
