@jimmydean What do I need to strip an aluminum frame to raw? Same with the miscellaneous steel parts?
Or do. Makes my day go by faster.x2 on the aircraft stripper.
Just don't huff it.
This stuff works great and is way safer than other strippers. Brush it on, forget about it for a couple hours then wipe off with a scotch brite pad.

I thought that was just for anodized aluminum.Easy Off oven cleaner usually works too. It's basically sodium hydroxide.
Also quite nasty. But it cleaned up my truck wheels.Easy Off oven cleaner usually works too. It's basically sodium hydroxide.
This is what happened to MikeD's 5-stop @Westy had mentioned a while back of my epic failure. My buddy had a friend strip it at his shop. They remove the paint from rail cars before repainting. They use beach sand, but it is high pressure and out of a damn near fire hose. First and last time his services were deployed. I wanted to do it by hand and Rob had it done while I was at work. It didn't remove any metal, but it left a pretty rough surface. Then the powder used was a special order of a whole other epic fail.Just don't want sand/hard media blast, because it will pit the frame
If the frame is aluminum, it won't glow. The base metal will just turn liquid at about 1200*. The aluminum oxide skin will semi keep it together until the whole thing fails.Haven't you always wondered how cool it would be to heat your bike up with a torch until it glowed? I have.
No problem. I should have it completed within the week. She's getting antsy about riding.I hope stoney doesn't mind me posing this. I think it looks rad as hell.
She's going to love it.

I used Aluminum specific primer.Remember to spray down your raw frame with Silicone before painting, prevents oxidation from starting and ruining your paint job..
Or not.
I used Aluminum specific primer.
I realized that about 3min later.Paint will not even think about sticking to a surface with silicone on it.
So one can't paint augmented boobs? Oh, you said on...Paint will not even think about sticking to a surface with silicone on it.
You can always try.So one can't paint augmented boobs? Oh, you said on...
