I haven't done any riding in the Sapphire WSA/Bitterroot (NW MT) but it sounds like a few of their trails have temporarily "reopened" to bikes as a result of this court decision (i.e. ride them while you can...)Praying nothing goes the way of Montana here.
There is simply too much at stake.

i liked that cat’s meow...OM NOM NOMTerrible humidity all day long, with massive rains and storms from early afternoon on. New stem and heavier spring for rear shock arrived and got installed on the trail bike. During a hunt for the source of a creak under load, I figured it could be the cassette - took it apart, cleaned and greased, and the creak seems to be gone.
In other news, I scored two packs of Cat's Meow so life is good again.

i, too, need to track down creak/grind under load. bottom bracket and cassette are first suspects. chainring and pedals next.
RF BBs need to be re-packed with grease once a month or so, but I took mine apart last week. What also creaks is the crank spindle if the preload ring is not tight, or the chainring if the locking is not tight. In my case, both should be fine and I am hoping it was the cassette. If not, suspension bearings are my next step.SAME.
I pulled all the pivot bolts out, took crank off and retightened everything tonight.
Damn creak under power or big direction changes is still there. The big bearings on the biggest pivot did feel a little chunky. And of course the Race Face bottom bracket ones that don't have any shielding....
