They only slow you down, that's why.

sweet pics, those are some sick riding spots. did you session that bowl thing in the middle of the ledge manual pics? it looks like a fun spot.

Yeah, we hit that up...that thing is pretty fun. It actually shoots you real fast when you go into it like a spine. If you have ever seen Criminal Mischief, Van Homan manuals into and out of it and that is just crazy.

prly, i, being a BMXer, rarely use brakes for manuals, as mst bmxers dont either, u really dont need them if you just pump with your legs...

He is using brakes on his bike, mainly just feathering during long manuals. He is pretty good at them, last night we were at Penn and Drexel and he did a nice one by hopping up 4 stairs and going across a big walkway to almost ice picking a rail at the end.

I myself use brakes mainly on high speed ones down hills...but for ones on ledges and on slow flats, I don't touch them.
