where the trails are
Nailed it.

WTF is so hard to understand about this?

Pick a lift serviced hill.
Pick a bunch of DH trails.
Time a run down each one.
Lowest combined time down wins.

All you gotta do is formalize and structure what huge numbers of us do with our buddies all summer.

Fucking industry. :disgust:
we used to have a similar race here in CO at Sol Vista called the Triple Dhip. Race the rad dh trails, combined times are judged. Very popular BITD as I recall.

2019 was also the last year Sam Hill gave a fuck and won the overall without winning a Race. Courses were changed to "suit" him better the following years...
Yeah? Weirdly the running rumour was the courses were selected for the opposite effect after his third overall. More pedally etc. Not sure why they would change the courses to suit the 3 time winner more

I guess you're talking to me?

So I reference a sticker that says 'pedalin's for queers' that was a very real thing with a very specific context given the rather buff dudes sporting it, and you think that's an anal sex joke?

I mean I didn't grow up in a place obsessed with catholicism but you have some fun mind leaps. Maybe you should explore all the things that make your brain go directly to 'anal sex' some more.

There was also the Suckerpunch race, where each racer was given a punch card with all the names of all ten DH tracks at Sol Vista. It was a mass LeMans start at the top of the hill and then you had to ride each of those ten DH tracks. Other than everyone being required to ride the same track on lap 1 (high speed fire road kinda thing to get people spread out a bit), you could ride the tracks in any order you wanted. Somewhere on each track was a course marshal with a hole puncher… and you’d stop and get your card punched for that trail. No timing system, lift rides were included, lotta strategery on picking the order you wanted to ride the trails. First racer to present a fully punched Suckerpunch race card won.

Fuckin’ hardest and funnest race I’ve ever done. Most people were shelled at the end.

No. Dude. The saddlespur ref

Real or not. Ive never seen or heard of a sticker referencing the words YOU typed. I must remember for future reference. "I saw it on a sticker" as an absolutely fool proof way to get out of bother.
I might even make me some stickers.

Wait til you find out where a hooha is on women

Again, anal sex not a thing I mentioned.... And certainly not specific to one particular gender pair. I can't help where your mind goes. I'm making jokes about what's obviously a very dangerous product that's probably going to impale someone whether there's a hole there or not.

That's because you live in the UK and this was at whistler.

Just shut up now.

Aren't we all blown away by all the media coverage of the first EDR round of the year!!!!

It's being treated like a red-headed stepchild these days. Sheesh

Lol the push for E-EWS has gotten to the regular format. Yesterdays EDR race had liasons so tight former WC XC racers couldn't make the cut offs. The racers had a petition to extend the liason times but it didn't get changed. What a joke.

I remember the year all the WC guys came to race it. So fun competing with Hannah & Minnaar on those trails. DH frames were starting to get longer and Minnaar was leading that charge. It was cool following him on practice runs to see his technique for whipping a long bike through the very tight turns. That inspired me to finally go up a frame size without fear that it couldn't turn.

It is how you prevent washed up DH riders from taking over and making it a B league for downhill.

Leogang EDR course is 75km, 6 stages and 2,470m descending.

So longs as they don't make them do it all in 4 hours it should be a good day out

My version of an EDR would be something like that. But you have to drink a beer at the top of evert stage. But anything but bud light. HA
Aside from a few over serious dorks trying to be competitive, that is basically how most of the non-Elite categories do most good MTB events.

Come to think of it, I've stopped for a beer mid-race in a DH run, an EWS, a marathon XC and a CX race. Only difference in all of them was the CX it was mandatory.

Sign me up! You'd fit in here well in Colorado :)

New Belgium brewery here has a cyclocross track on premise. And does a series. Beer is optional. But knowing me...I wouldn't win that. :)

Looks refreshing. I do have a goal to attend an WC in person, again. Someday. I was one horse hair from going to Lenzerheid for giggles, for worlds. Only to missing seeing Kate Courtney winning the worlds XC champs, but life happens. Ah whateves. I still like bikes :D
Les Gets is one of my favorites but Leogang is pretty nice too. I’ve been to Lenzerheide every year and that’s also pretty good.

Worlds in Champery next year? I’ll buy you a beer!

Hmm...sounds like a challenge. I'll take it! :) Would love love love to see that. Where do you recommend I fly into for Champery? Geneva?

Not the tripple dhip, but Nationals. I remember the South African and an Austrailian doing laps. That was when they ran Stranger and the 3 amigo jumps. Us non pros did Buc Nasty. I remember my bike smelling funny from all the hits.

I still do Sol Vista (Granby Ranch) things are much more tame. (like only 2 amigos. Gaps filled in. Still Normandy sandy) But still one of my favs. Usually they open on Memorial day, but they still had snow on course. So golf and lower xc trails it was.
