It was 11:30am Saturday morning. Bottles of Celebration Ale were already going around at Yuba Expedition headquarters in downtown Downieville when we walked in. "Boys, do you know the skinny," one of the morning aled eyebrowed, "there's 8 inches up there." "Well as long as there are tracks to follow, that's all we need," I returned. "Fair enough; we sent up a group yesterday; they were all smiles."
This was all the testemony we needed; we loaded up Yuba Expedition's last shuttle of the season for a final run down the venerable 16 mile trail. Through the snow, ice, and smooth singletrack, it was all smiles indeed on this sunny Thanksgiving weekend.

That's freaking hardcore. I keep promising myself someday I will do the Downieville classic, but I think I'll wait for a little dryer conditions!

Looks like a lot of fun though.
