You guys have become lazy and complacent in my absence!
TdU starts soon!
New bikes for 2009 - who's getting them? What are we looking at?
Cool new parts to discuss!
Race team news, transfers, schedules, prototypes, rumors, scuttlebutt!

I for one am jonsing super hard on a new bike, hopefully in a week or two, but it's a lot of money, and I'm on a being cheap spree, which is very unlike me.
I got rid of a bunch of my quiver, and it continues, but I want to buy a new car, so that's where that money is going for now...
I *might* be building up my new cheaper alloy frame first, depending on stock, which will replace the scandium/carbon bike, which as a ~56cm, is a tad small. If I can get my hands on the frame anyway. Thinking of putting the Force stuff on there instead of the Ultegra that's on the winter bike now...

So, what's up everyone???

I aint spending no money on no damn road bikes this year unless something breaks. When it does break it is getting replaced by the cheapest part available from Nashbar.

Showing up to group rides with a filthy 20lb road bike with a triple, 25mm tires and a suspension seatpost. Having the local dickhead roadies laugh at my MTB shoes, hairy legs and crappy bike then tearing their ****ing legs off.:happydance:

Also looking forward to doing some deathmarch type long rides with friends who also appreciate large amounts of suffering.

If you do that westy then you are my hero - I will start with a rep to motivate you.

I would love to get a road bike but I have no room for more bikes. So my road riding will again be on my 2001 Kona Chute. I need more space NOW.

I will show up on my chi chi bike with white shoes and name stickers that are nick names making fun of people with their names on their weekend bikes. I plan to start a trend with nickname labels.

I do need a source for frame stickers so I can get them made for a couple of people.

After months of lusting after new bikes and not doing anything about it, I've decided to continue to procrastinate for the indefinite future. My custom steel bike with topolinos and campy record will just have to suffice for the time being. Woe is me. Woe I tell ya.

New bike will hopefully be here tomorrow. Which means the weekend will be me taking all of the parts off of it.
Anybody want some Tiaga 8spd stuff? :)

Question of the day: Force or Ultegra? I've got both.

I figured you would accept nothing less than Super Record 11 spd. You must be slipping.

This isn't for the "nice" bike, it's replacing the winter/beater bike, which has Ultegra. I do have some DA I guess I could put on there, hmm...interesting thought...
Just a full alloy frame, the Felt F95 frame stripped down.

as much as i would like to get a new ride, i can't afford one right now. i had my Concorde sold but backed out since i felt i couldn't give up the classic ride right now. i could use the money, but i really can't give it up just yet. plenty of lusting.. my wish list: Pegoretti, De Rosa, IF, Zanconatto, Seven, Moots. steel or Ti. i think for the moment i'm going to stay away from carbon. (well at least Pinarello carbon). i don't need light, i need sturdy to support my fat ass and steel/Ti is my thinking. so i'll just have to beat on my current rides and try to save some cash to get my dream ride. sigh.....

we're expecting delivery of eD/A in February.

i just finished building up my 'cross' bike. more like dirt road bike.

i traded my Chorus 11 for Record 10.

i think my shop is going to start working closely with Metro VW, which is rather exciting.

I wish I knew were people were getting those stickers with the Texas flag and their name on them. I can think of 3 or 4 people with those.

New bike this year for me, Yeti 303-R DH and finally heading out to Sea Otter this year.
Got about 25 races scheduled and I am hoping to make most of them.
Other than that, not much.
Hopefully all of this comes through if I can keep begging my Docs to delay my knee surgeries until the season is over.

still slowly working away at getting my Damo built up.

Wheels are accounted for (thanks James!) but I still need brakes/drivetrain stuff. I want to run a mix with Shimano cranks and SRAM shifty parts. I'll settle for whatever decent brakes I can find!

Next week Webcycely is having a party to celebrate Bend getting the CX Nationals for the next two years. FREE Deschutes beer! Woot woot!

I hope to get dr.'s clearance to do some weekly tt races this spring/summer. We'll see. No new bikes for me. I've been on the same custom built Titus Titanium road bike for years.

I've got some Force brakes with low mileage, and the pads are pretty well new (was riding them with Swiss Stops, now the stock pads are back in)...$75 + shipping.

Hats, Spring Line, seeeecrit projects, stickers, biz cards, etc... Trying to get as much done as possible in Q1 so that I can travel and sell for the next two Quarters. What a headache!

so that's you at Laekhouse. I thought someone here was involved with that.

Why not pants? My ideal riding pant: full length, slim-ish, ELVS on the back pocket and on the inside right side (visable when cuffed). Or even a capri/ manpri.

I keep hoping to find that on the site.

I've been playing with the idea of building up a TT bike....but that is a hell of a lot of money! I am going to be buying/building a single speed cross bike for next year.

For Xmas I got the '08 Giro and Tour and I was super stoked. I really enjoy the Giro footage. For this year I'm really looking forward to the Tour of Italy, I think it may be one of the best races in terms of competition. I'm also curious to see what happens to the mens team for cross worlds

TT bikes are so rad. I have that Look 496 frame but I haven't really ever done anything with it, I always mean to find some local series or something. I'm sure there are more here in SoCal than in NV...

The only thing I have is a 58cm Kona Major Jake, nothing in a 56...
I don't think anyway. Unless an old-school Bontrager steel (Santa Cruz baby!) CX frame interests you. Not SS drops though.

my road biking plans for this year... are selling my bike this afternoon on craigslist. :D i bike pretty much strictly for commuting these days since i'm at the hospital 6 days a week on average (as in i'd be there all 7 but regulations say i need 4 days off per month so that's what i'm granted). i'm selling it for $200 since i want it off my hands tonight and it's 9 years old.
