Spring in BC is a time when the weather seems to have a mind of its own, bikes are being readied for a season of abuse, and riders are just getting back into their groove. During a trip around the Vancouver area, I stopped in to visit the Coastal Crew along with Mike Hopkins. Incidentally, Joe Schwartz and the Matthews brothers, Stephen and Peter, were also in town to pound out some early season loam laps.

This video was shot in an afternoon, one session at one place, and serves as a reminder that if the vibe is right, the riders are stoked, and the light is firing you can get a lot done in an hour or two. Between the backlight rain and massive whips, I felt the bike had to go away and the camera had to come out. A big thanks go out to the Coastal Crew for supporting mountain biking (buy their new film, From the Inside Out!), Mike Hopkins for making that trip happen, and the riders for having fun. Now, it's time for some whips!
