why? Clearly I understand the need for more bikes simply to have more bikes. But is there a more functional reason?
For example, I have a longish travel FS mtn bike and a SS HT mtn bike. They both have their benefits, and depending on my mood and where I'm riding, I pick one over the other.
Is there a similar case for roadies? Perhaps a steel frame with racks and wider tires for commuting and a high end carbon ride for racing?
I'm considering a new frame/bike and wondering if I'll have any need/want for my old one. I don't race and I commute on the same bike I do longer "club" rides on, so that's not really an issue for me.
