There are really more factors involved in that than the price and the model of bike. Tell us a little bit about yourself, what type of riding youare planning on getting into. Are you more interested in XC, downhill, Freeride, street riding...etc? These are going to play a big role in what kind of bike you get. I personally am a fan of specialized bikes but thast only because I have owned numerous ones. Think about that kind of information..then you may come up with a little more.
