After the Norcal high school League xc race in monterey I'm thinking of riding the Santa Cruz trails for the first time. I'm wondering if anyone wants to meet me and maybe a few other noobs to show us around and guide us through some of the trails? I also want to know if it's alright to ride these trails in the rain. Anyone up to help me out?

I'd be happy to show you some trails provided it's not a downpour. There's a lot of fun stuff in UCSC, xc and dh. They're also ok to ride in the rain. The dirt slides right off with a hose and ruts never really form in UCSC. It'll just be wet and cold.

edit: I assume you mean a XC ride? If you mean DH, I don't know if now is the best time to ride. The downhill trails aren't so much fun in the rain, but riding XC there is good.

well ive got to work this weekend, but there are only a couple trails out here that are OK to ride in the rain but still not verry fun. if you can you should try to make it out on saterday, its not suppose to rain

if it's wet and rainy, you should probably wave off on hitting UC. It takes a few days to dry out and the forcast says rain for days...
