Impressive experiment. Would love to try it as is but not the way I would build a road bike.

Compact rings? You don't need those on a bike that light. It practically climbs for you.
I had a hard enough time learning to trust carbon road frames...carbon front rings (especially when you shift between them ...I could see a nice single speed setup...) seem like a bit of a gimmick to me...
It comes down to weight; they wouldn't be on a sub-10lb bike if they weren't lighter.

Haha! Funny, that was the same color frame I ordered at first, but then I fell into a while '09, so I have that one instead, and I used the money to get yet another frame. Pics shortly, as soon as I have figured out what build I'm doing on the new one.
That bike is pretty damn sick though, and that's a stock frame...
