I'm in a wedding in Bethel, ME around the 4th of July. I'm taking it upon myself to turn this into an opportunity to see new places and ride new terrain. So I'm flying into Buffalo and taking two weeks to drive out to Maine. I have never been farther east than Chicago so it will all be new territory. Going to ship my bike out to family in Buffalo and bring it along.
Anyone got any singletrack gems they want to share with a total stranger? I've looked up Whiteface and think I'll spend a day riding there. I've heard of Acadia and been told to check out Kingdom Trails. Beyond that I am clueless.
My fiance is worried about camping alone. She thinks that back east means people everywhere and campers get mugged regularly. What is she talking about?
I'll also be working- think Tommy Boy selling hops instead of brake pads.
Thanks for any input!
