Sorry for hijacking, gravedigging, whatsoever.... :busted:

Im getting a Vivid for my Demo soon...problem: Demo requires special eyelet...

Did any1 already install the vivid on a 2008 demo8?? How did you manage it? Take some sandpaper and enlarge the eyelet?!

Thanks!

I'm not sure about the Vivid's eyelet size, but on Fox and Elka you simply remove the DU Bushing in the eyelet. The sleeve that goes in has a special coating that replaces the DU Bushing's liner. The width of the eyelet is also important to verify. Just ensure it is the same width has the stock Fox shock.

Well its not that simple I guess :busted:

I've tried to install a DU-BUSH in my DHX to get it sold but the bush didnt fit properly...the eyelet was too big.
So I called the german FOX distribution. They told me that Specialized has some special FOX shocks with different eyelets - about 2/10mm bigger than usual...
I was recommended to glue it in or to use a "center punch"?! to make it fit...

Thats the reason Im a bit confused about fitting the vivid into my demo ;)

I have the Vivid 5.1 on my Demo 8 from 09, no problem, and I'm running tune B.
Fits with the Demo hardware shock mounts. The eyelet on the DHX supplied with the demo is indeed a bit bigger than normal making bushings hard to fit without loctite.

Only had about 3 days of riding with it, but i like it so far.
I weight 180pounds and run the 450 Vivid spring.

Hope this helps! :thumb:
