what's a reasonable weight for steel frame and fork?

cool. The Surly LHT is 5 lbs. Fork is 2 lbs. So it's not that much more than what you consider typical.

It really depends a lot on the size of the frame. I had a 20" steel XC frame and it was over 5 just becuase of the size.

we haev a couple in teh shop right now total build weight for each is under 15 lbs, full campy record group on each, Only difference is the wheels, one has Openpros other has the carbone elites

I haven't looked at the geo, but see if the Soma Smoothie, or the Soma Smoothie ES will work. I like their stuff, and Julie's Smoothie is quality.
