What's on your Handle bars ??

What Kind of Grips do you use ?

I  love  rhode Gears handle bar Hide. they stopped making it about 15 years ago, and when ever I see some at an old bike shop I scoop it up.

if anyone ever sees the stuff on line let me know !!!

any way here is some brand New roll of white.

But my Bike is Dark Blue , and here are the bars after removing the old tape.

As I said my Bike is dark blue and The white wouldn't look as good on it so I am using some black that I took off of my old Road bike very very carefully.

first you soak it in water for about an hour to make the leather more supple. then you lace it up, This part sucks

Once it is all laced , when it dries the leather shrinks a little, tightens it up nicely on the bars , then it is Comphy leather goodness. and the stuff lasts Forever ( ok about 10-15 years )

Cool stuff. I have Bontrager gel tape on min at the moment....it has been flapping in the wind for about a thousand miles now....I'm just too lazy to change it. :thumb:

that's badass. i'd prefer the seams on the bottom, though.

and white tape...how can you not don the white tape? it's so pretty.

I hate to admit anything in common with you, but I'm running a Brooks seat too.

I would think that leather bar covering must get real nasty in the rain.

On my commuter I used to use electrical tape, and would still do so in a pinch.

there's a company, Winn, that makes golf grips that feel fairly similar to leather, and perform well in the rain. i don't have time right now to see if they make a wrap. the stuff is nice and cushy.

the seam has to go on the top so it matches up with the brake handle. I decided not to go with the wite , because of dirt issues.

I was looking at that Brooks tape too, looks nice !!!

I usually go with black Cinelli cork tape. I think I have some Deda tape on there now. I've been looking into alternatives but haven't seen much...looking for something thin that lasts and can maybe withstand crashes/mud/water/snow and other hazards that cross bikes see...

I use Look tape, the carbon looking one. It's pretty thin but that's how I like it.

Nashbar "Natural" cork.
That bike looks very cool, is that Campy ergopower? Looks like Record but it doesn't say Record, or Chorus or Mirage or Xenon. What kind of bike is that?
