Hey, what is everyone's thoughts on the best way to ship a bike across the country. I'm moving from NY to CA and need to bring 2 full bikes. The airline said I could bring them boxed up for $50 each but there's no liability for damage. I was thinking UPS ground, but I have heard of them damaging/losing bikes, at least with them I could insure it though. What have you guys done in the past to address this problem of shipping a bike cross-country

Thanks!

I have had great luck with FedEx because I have had zero damage. The other nice thing is they are by far the cheapest for shipping bikes. I was able to ship a 53 pound Stinky insured for $2000 for $35 or so. They take about as long as UPS, but the box size is a little bigger and they are cheaper.
