i'm sorry i just can't hold back after so many years of keeping this to myself. Cyclocross is ****ing stupid! People don't race downhill mountain bikes on the road unless it's for a joke, which cyclocross is. A joke....

Yeah, Just thinking about taking a CX bike on anything but hard packed Fire Road sounds like a dumb Idea, Its basically a glorified road bike. If you want to ride a road bike ride it on the road. There is a reason MTB were invented.
But different strokes for different folks.
The only thing lamer than cyclocross is hearing someone describe it in a foreign language.
I like my CX bike, but without shame I tell ya, I never plan to race it. Hell, I barely commute on it.
I raced CX on my mountain bike for a season and it sucked. Anyone who says that a cyclocross bike is the same as a road bike has NO IDEA what they are talking about. I race DH and CX and CX is by far the harder of the two. Cx is one of the most physically demanding sports I have ever done and also one of the most fun.
