I'm going up to snowshoe for three days at the end of the month with a few friends from the shop. We can't afford a hotel so we are looking for a nearby area to camp. I heard you can't camp at silver creek anymore so that's a bummer.

    Anyone know a good spot?

I've been told you camp in the forest (Mine Rd) off 219 in Slaty Fork. Ive ridden up there but stayed at the Elk River Farmhouse, $50 night but I prefer a bed at the top for $65-70 a night. The Farmhouse has an excellent homemade breakfast. They also would know is you could camp off Mine Rd. It's about a mile away and the trails run back into there facility.

thanks, i think we are going to camp off mine road. primitive camping should be allowed in wildlife management areas so i think its a safe bet!
