hi. as ive been informed recently i wont be able to use my thomson stem on my road bike as its for a mountain bike. The bike i bought has too long of a stem so i am looking for a shorter stem. I am basically looking for a cheap roadbike stem, so i can try to find the right length and not waste 80 bucks if i buy the wrong size.

Can anyone point me towards cheap 1 1/8" shorter than 100mm 26.0 roadbike stems? Does anyone have a stem lying around?

If this should be in the wanted section let me know i just figured most roadies might not be checking there.

I was looking for one last week as well. Only one I found under $50 was on Ebay, so check around there for one. I know some of the mail order places had some for around $50 or so. Good luck.

Your lbs no doubt has dozens of old stems lying around. They may let you try them free for sizing if you buy from them, or they'll sell them to you for cheap.
