Whistler really is unreal....
Can not get over this place, the riding, the beauty, etc...
Still can not believe there was a thread about someone saying Whistler is not 'challenging enough' hahaha
After doing runs with Minnaar, Needles and Beaumont and having them tell me a few sections were ridiculous, made me feel much better about my puss-ness.
Anyways, nice pic Fraser, would beat any of the shots I seen in the whistler catalogs thingies.

Take gondola ALL the way to the top; ride down to your right and then up that crazy-looking chair that seems to be hanging off a cliff. Bring something warm to wear!

Hey Guys, I will look into a desktop this week. The shot was from a catalog shoot, and I am not sure if it is being used or not. If it is I have a few others that are similiar i can put up as a desktop.
Also, bikes are not usually allowed up on that chair, only chair 15 and 25 even have racks. We had to get special permission and be sent up with radios to shoot it. There are no real trails up there to ride on, only hiking paths. We were allowed to push in ride it to shoot and push out to the fireroad.

figured that's what it must've been.....high note? for the samurai last fall, we rode up to the peak from the roundhouse and then down frontier pass to khyber, one of the most awesome things ever riding up there with snow on the ground, and killer views.....this place does rule

I'm not sure of the trails up there actually. We had to take the fireroad towards the tea hut and loop around. Almost everything up there is closed for the peak to peak chair construction. Tons of cement trucks etc heading up and down highway 86.
We were very lucky to be allowed up there, so thanks a ton to Whistler people for hooking it up. Also, peak chair is trippy with a bike ahead of you and HUGE backpack on your lap.

yeah it's pretty rad up there....best thing in the world is getting first tracks down whistler bowl to shale slope back to peak chair on the morning after the alpine's been closed and stormin'.....had a couple of those last winter, there's nothing in the world like ripping an untracked line and being first over shale slope with the hoards cheering ya on from the lift line.....gives me shivers just thinking about it!
