Argh!! I rarely get flats on my road or fixie, despite riding on fairly crappy roads in SF and around the Bay Area. Once the rain hits out here, however, the roads get full of crap and the flats increase. Last Thursday I got three flats in one day on my road bike, and then I got another this morning on my fixie. I ride prepared but dang it's a pain in the butt.

That IS annoying! Especially when you get cold and your hands can't function properly to change it. Maybe you need a more burly tire?

It doesn't really get cold enough here in SF that I could ever get away with complaining (especially being from the Northeast and riding through many nasty winters). These have all been punctures from glass or metal in the roadway. I'll probably pick up some thicker casings for the fixie.
