I have no idea where I am
With all these music threads lately it seems fitting to ask: " What was the first album you purchased ? "

The soundtrack to Heavy Metal ( on vinyl ) was my first.

A few years prior to that ( 7 or 8 years old ) I had some KISS albums that were given to me, but I think Heavy Metal was the first one I bought on my own.

Styx, Kilroy was here.

But in true poor white trash style it was recorded off of the radio. Local station would play complete albums late Sunday nights. Don't think I bought an album until I turned 15 and was gainfully employed. That Album was probably Justice For All.

I bought, on cassette, California Girls by the Beach Boys, and Storm Front by Billy Joel. Probably about age 8 or so. Then the first two CD's I bought were Aerosmith, Get a Grip and The Beatles, Let it Be age 13 or 14 I would guess. I don't know If I've ever only bought one album at a time.

I stole Rush's 2112 and Aerosmiths Toys in the Attic on the same day from Record Theatre in Buffalo New York. I got caught by my mom with them and had to go down to the store with her and pay for them. The first one I purchased officially was Queens News Of the World
