semi-retired, actually. Anne-Caro won the Avalanche Cup in Lyon (France) the week before Vigo.stiksandstones said:Someone said ACC is pregnant...uh, no...
Marla Streb you are thinking? ACC is retired.

Orfen said:ouch - it 'might' be Bryn's bike, but I think his bike is blue. Might be one of the other GT riders (like Chris S., Dave W. or Ollie.)
I do not get it though, in the latest hypnosis video all the fast guys told me how unreal Bryn is...and that Sam Hill is the next Nico????Akula_7 said:That's Bryn all right, I heard that was one HARD crash, as was Minnaar's, saw his on video was one hard hit to the head, all though the aul Honda press release blows things out of proportion.
Has to be the biggest injury list ever for a world cup, I'm not sure exactely why though, It was super hard to go fast and not make mistakes, just ask Jeff(bikenweed). Great race though, canny wait for Fort Bill.
bikenweed said:Nice to meet you at the race, Chris. I never knew the Irish rode bikes! Have fun at Ft. Bill; since the Pound is twice the dollar I'll be at Willingen instead, assuming things work out with airlines and visas.
I think everyone was trying really, really hard during the race. It's the first race of the season, everyone is more nervous than usual, and the confidence and points from the first race carry a lot of momentum through the season. I'll bet Hannah continues to do well, and that Minaar has another bad wreck. Peaty, Rennie and Beaumont should also continue to do very well. There were also a lot of people out there, 200+ fast guys signed up. Guys had to be pinning it in order to win. It was mandatory to take a lot of extra chances in order to do well, as the course was so short and had so few areas to gain time. Lots of gnarly risk, first race motivation to do well, and a hard course equal lots of injuries.
Pro riders try hard season long, no one is more nervous than at the last race of the season (worlds and title chase races). I am glad you told us Hannah, Rennie, Peat and Beaumont will continue to do well, got any other hot tips? like the sky is blue, gas is expensive, etc...bikenweed said:I think everyone was trying really, really hard during the race. Well considering the fact Clay (hypnosis) is the newest employee of Decline, I think that Scott Hart fluff was a precursor to his new job...kinda like "maybe if I leave all this nonsense of him blabbing, I can get a cool job at decline".Akula_7 said:And speaking of holy sped up Hypnosis batman, why does Scott Hart talk a huge bucket load of Bollix throughout the film, especcially in the Commentary?
Ya, I never thought of that, but it does seem the shorter the course-the more injuries. Good point out Butch.bizutch said:Remember how many pros racked themselves silly the year they introduced Grouse. Peaty tackled a tree and lost the points b/c of it.
So Decline have Porter and Dirt have Rankin...interesting!stiksandstones said:Well considering the fact Clay (hypnosis) is the newest employee of Decline, I think that Scott Hart fluff was a precursor to his new job...kinda like "maybe if I leave all this nonsense of him blabbing, I can get a cool job at decline".
Yeah, but Clay is going to be a writer I have heard rumors.Akula_7 said:So Decline have Porter and Dirt have Rankin...interesting!
never been a big fan of decline... too much of an industry "bro"verdose for me.stiksandstones said:Yeah, but Clay is going to be a writer I have heard rumors.
Also heard one of the photo guys is out, and Hylands is in.
Agreed, they do have awesome pictures and really solid race coverage. They hook the Juniors up which hardly anyone else does, so its worth the 6 bucks in my book. I just skip over the nonsense. I also dig their captions, the MTB community is supposed to be smart and witty, and I think decline does a fine job of encompassing that with what they write. Sense of humor goes a long way for me at least. Thats why I really like Dirt too.davetrump said:never been a big fan of decline... too much of an industry "bro"verdose for me.
that, and no matter how hard they try they will not convince me that doing dirtjump and skate park tricks on mountainbikes is so rad and pushing the evolution of mountain biking (though i think the 20" guys are cutting edge).
Looks flexy. Sooo stoked for Hannah. I just met Him and Mrs. Hannah and they are such a cool couple. And on the C-dale to boot. What a great way to start the year. look like fun part(Same part of the track but a bit more above)

Yeah, most of the jumps were horrible. Even that hip at the top that looks so fun in all the movies was a pretty mellow, flat landing. After the steep rock face, the huck to flat over a road was retarded. Standing next to it during practice made my bike cringe just listening to all the bottoming out going on. Even the finishline road gap was a pretty harsh landing. It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't nearly as nice as the Gouveia road gap.Rye_Bread said:frankly that jump looks like a painful huck
I'm more worried about the fact that he can't hold his head straight- in every shot his head is on an angle, does he have a screwed neck or something?Akula_7 said:And speaking of holy sped up Hypnosis batman, why does Scott Hart talk a huge bucket load of Bollix throughout the film, especcially in the Commentary?
