There's like a Best Western or something close by. Stayed there for the US Open. 10 of us, 1 room, they didn't care. Lots of things got trashed there. The Magura guys stayed there too and were crashing through ceiling panels into other peoples rooms.

Go to the Vernon Inn for dinner and drinks. Be sure and get yerself a cougar for the night too
oh that was you guys? i was with the "hot mom"

Diablo has awesome stunts and drops, Platty is the gnarcore. Sounds like Platty is more what your looking for, but if you're down there you might as well hit both. If you start think Diablo is too easy, just take a run down BMW.
Ah yes... BMW did try really hard to kill me :mumble: I still need revenge!

I would second hitting both. Diablo during the week and then Platty on the weekend would get you the best of both worlds.

Unfortunately, with this line of thought there may be no "next year."

A couple of local mtns around here tried DH but when too many complained about the lack of trails, they decided it wasn't worth the effort and closed, which is a shame. No, they didn't have great trails... or a lot of elevation to work with, but they had potential and it was nice having lift-serve mtns less than an hour away.
I doubt that will happen. The mountain is not owned by a company, rather one man who is an awesome guy and great trail builder. I was up there last fall, and went a few times earlier this year to help him build trails. He has invested lots of time and money in this project, and being fairly well to do himself I doubt he has much better things to do. For him it is not about the money, he wants to provide the best riding spot that he can and ensure that riders have tons of fun. In the few years he has been there he has managed to cut about 3 trails, complete with wooden stunts constructed from trees cut off his mountain and processed with the saw mill he has on site. Combine this with the refurbished lodge and lift, and other amenities he is doing quite well for himself. It is just an awesome place with tons of potential.

Well, that's good to hear. But I was more referring to gnurider1080's response, which is not good for smaller mtns trying to create places to ride for us.
