I was there and heard absolutely ZERO booing or jeering.

There was however, a ridiculous amount of cheering, whistling, barrier banging, bell ringing and foot stomping!

It was amazing - the crowd got behind ever rider!(although some more than others - naturally)

Oh and well done Ruaridh Cunningham!

Yeah, but what about clapping, applause, stroking, nose twitching, screaming and hurrahs?

I thought hooting, but hard to tell. Anyone who was there care to comment?
There was a group at the edge of the finish area, just in front of the grandstand that were booing when Hills name was called out as the 2007 Champion. It was really strange, everyone round about were like "are they booing Sam, WTF". The group looked liked chav scum though...

Quick shout out to Ruaridh Cunningham, nice one boy!

Good to hear! It's sad how a couple of fools can leave a bad impression when thousands of others are having a great time!

Aside from that group (who didnt even fit in so fvck knows what they were doing there), the crowd was fantastic. There was so much noise coming from all over the hill for all the riders, it was just magic! The noise at the Grandstand could be heard towards the upper sections of the track!

Heh - I was just making a joke about the "ass-less" skinsuit... I know they had skinsuits last year but one of the elite men had a bad wreck during his race run and tore the ass of his suit open... can't remmeber who it was though...

Pretty funny.
Nathan Rankin, I wanna see pics of this but it's kinda sad, its his last year racing and he could have pulled a big result there, bummer he crashed out.

Stoked for Ruaridh Cunningham!

I had the pleasure of taking the gondola with him during the MSA World Cup this year and he's a real class act. I'm really happy to see him be the World Champ! Good job!!! :thumb:

Wow! I don't remember being there.... ;)

So Luke slid out and still got 20th? I said he could do top twenty, huge props for that. Did anyone actually put money on that Duncan Vs Luke thread... hehehe.

Bad ass of the decade goes out to Greg Minnaar....

Greg broke his shoulder in the race run crash and rode the remaining 2m40 of the race with a broken and dislocated shoulder, after his crash...only 7 seconds down.

That guy is a messiah.

He was in real pain at the finish, as soon as he got down the shirt was off and several team guys were round him attending to him, it was not a pretty sight seeing somebody in pain like that.
Last seen with his arm in a sling trying (and failing) to get into the only pub in town open after 1am like the rest of us!

watch Barel's run on Freecaster.tv - you can kindda hear some booing at the end. :disgust1:
Must have been over by where they were picking the sound up from cause where I was (right trackside) he got a great reception, not surprising given his awesome ride.

As for what he has ever done.......my only guess is that to some close minded individuals being French is enough. The Scots and the French get on well but you always seem to get bull**** rivalry between the frogs and the English.
