On Saturday I rode a trail I've known about for years but rarely ride.
Its usually an overgrown mess, but someone has been busy hacking back the poison oak and bramble, the trail was clear! The trail is an awesome 4 mile descent thats straight up old school. No big stunts, no huge jumps, just threading the needle on cliffside singletrack and hauling a$$. So fun, too bad it soo fast its over in 17minutes:imstupid:

I wrecked myself pretty bad trying to launch a rock outcropping (on my trailbike no less) Some nasty rock grabbed my front wheel.

But here's the amazing part: there was no one on it. Not a single car at the trailhead. No eco-nazi, Sierra clubber hating on me, no stopping and saying "two more coming up" No one. I love having the trail to myself and it almost never happens now. Too bad it takes a 4x4 to shuttle it or it'd be in regular rotation....

Gordon doesn't know of this trail and I certainly won't show him. Gordon's a scumbag.

pm me if you want the story. I won't turn a thread about the great experiences of riding bikes into a flame fest.

BTW, when are you getting back into town, and when are you getting a trailbike?:monkeydance:

hey Zark, do you know who built that trail? I'm not trying to get any info or anything, but a buddy of mine who used to live down there built a trail that kind of fits that description and was wondering if it was the same one. I rode it many moons ago. More like 4 years ago. The guy I'm thinking of, his name is Erik.

This trail is OLD. I've been riding in SB since '94 and I hiked it when I was younger still. I don't know who built it, but I want to know who's been maintaining it, because its primo....and it used to be an overgrown mess.

I think I'll make a trailbike a birthday/xmas gift to myself this winter. Probably gonna get the gt sanction or the mongoose khyber. 32-ish pounds, 6-ish inches of travel, should be fun, SB XC bikes i figure. I'll be back around may hopefully?
