How many races are being counted for the final results?
Is it true that your 5 best out of the 9 races are counted?
Just to keep it simple, say you won all 9 venues which
would give you 1350 total points. Are you winning with
your 5 best results of 750 points?
From what Taz told me, it's the best 5 races that count, and I think there were only 7 races in the end.

There are definately 9 races, but I think you are right about it being best of 5. I was hoping it was going to be out of 6 after they clarified that the first wisp race was actually part of the series, but no such luck.

1.Reading
2.Massanutten
3.Diablo
4.Plattekill
5.Wisp #1

As I found out also, you can do less than 5 races to be counted in the series. For some odd reason, I thought it had to be at least 5 to qualify for the series, but there's no minimum.

ROXBURY, N.Y. (derailedonline.com) - Gravity East Series wrapped up today at Plattekill Mountain with over 200 Downhill entries. Early morning looked grim with a constant drizzle of rain that turned the course super slick and added to the already muddy spots on the course. With the abundant amount of shale rock here at Plattekill, a little rain doesn't totally destroy a course.

Practice started early this morning with the race begining at 11am. Conditions at the top of the mountain varied greatly from conditions at the finish line. Cold temperatures and strong win had everyone huddled around a fire pit at the top. Those that had just washed their bikes before getting on the lift had frozen water on the surface of their bikes when they got to the start area.

Pros had first pick of the course followed by the experts. Before the Sport/Beginners started, the collegiate racers were let down the course. Following the higher classes of the collegiate series the courses were switched to allow the Sport/Beginner course to compete. Army cadets from the Westpoint provided exellent support as course marshals to switch the courses over between classes.

The 802
that's becasue the only people who want to go to the south are already there:rimshot:

In all seriousness, based on the kind of entry data i've seen the northeast races draw from a much larger pool of racers; we're a much bigger market.

I hear you about living closer. After moving from CT to northern VT i usually have to drive 5+ hours to most races every weekend, or race in Canada instead. Most of the GE races this year are less than 2hrs away, so that will be a nice change.

Have baby, will travel? You need a toy hauler.
I gotta get all my racing in before the end of July.:twitch:
Then I will have to make the switch from Snowshoe mud to baby butt mud. I am pretty sure it has the same consistency.

Oh yeah, I gotta call you tonight.
I have something to tell you and something to ask you.

Quit your riding all you southerners, if you need a place to stay on any of your Journeys north ya'll can crash at my house in MD. Not necessarily close to any of the venues but at least you could take a rest and hit my pumptrack and DJs for a day.

Over your shoulder whispering
Talk of them opening dh back again under the new owners. Believe elevated trail design is planning the trails.
Yeah. Pete was up there in late fall. I went overboard in warning him that the posts said "Orville will stay on to aid in the transition" which is NEVER a good thing. He let me know he's a big boy and will handle himself accordingly.

Owner is prone to "owner financing" people over the years who "buy" parts of the mountain, the resort, operations, etc and yet they all fail eventually and guess who winds up with the property again and again....
