I have one more college application essay to write, and I'm about ready to put my head through my monitor. I'm not really getting anywere with this last essay, and my goal for myself was to be done before my birthday, which is in a few days. That's all.

ah, i remember doing that half a decade ago. what's the subject? is this more of a personal statement or a guided essay?

if it's a personal statement, i'd say have a beer (so what if you're underage) because it is the liquid facilitator of the creative juices.

I think I've got a pretty good topic, but I can't make the essay come out the way I want it to. I've written the damn thing three times, and still don't have anything that I really like.

Suck it up princess. I had to write six of them! It's not that bad, and when you're done and get your applications sent off, it's the best feeling in the world.
I said the LAST one. I'm applying to six schools, several essays each. I've got 5 schools' appliacations submitted at this point, and one of the two essays for the last one done.

Yeah I didn't see that until now. I thought it was strange when I had to wrote more than one essay for some of the schools.

It's is really the best feeling in the world to finish them, and now I have to wait.

Based on your proofreading here, I suggest you just roll over to the vocational school, learn to burn a 7018 and head on down to Midland. They always need pipe fitters. :D

If the application process is proving too difficult, the actual classes might not be for you.

Cornell? Really?

Cornell has been discussed here before. Dont do it.

Cornell's in my hometown, so I've got somthing of an idea of what it's like. I'm not sure what's going on with the cheerleading squad, but overall, the population is much more attractive than that.

I'm guessing it has somthing to do with the fact that the football team sucks. Nobody cares. Hockey is the big sport on campus, because the (mens) team is actually good.

this is what i like about being a non-traditional adult student. SAT scores, essays, high school transcripts are all unnecessary. most schools that deal with adult students take life experience as enough of a prerequisite for admission.
i love listening to the traditional students in my class bitch about not having enough time to get a paper finished (average paper at my school is minimum 10 pages) because of too much going on in their lives and then i get to put some perspective into the situation by explaining that all of the adult students had no problem with the assignment and i work 2 jobs, take care of 3 kids and still have a 3.6 gpa w/ a full time course load. friggin whiners :D i guess too much beer is a major hindrance to most college kids attaining their academic goals :D
friggin whiners! :D

all that aside...Good luck HAB! i made a similar thread a few weeks back when i was working on my two 10-15pg final papers simultaneously.

You guys are lucky. I dont even have "papers" anymore. I have to crunch data in these horrendous lab reports that take weeks on end. Good god Im glad this semester is over.

I had to write like one essay that worked for all my schools, then again none were like the ones you were applying to. got into UVM, probably UNH, and St. Lawrence, which was ED, so I'm basically done

There was one common app essay that I used for all of them (including Brown, who dosn't use the common app), but then, with the exception of Dartmouth, they all had suppliments with multiple essays that I couldn't use for more than one school.

Applying to schools blows. SATs, essays...-the whole thing is a pain. When I applied to college, I went early decision because I figured it might bump up my chances and I wouldn't have to write more essays if I got in. Good thing it worked, because I would've had to write about 5 essays in 10 days if it didn't.

On a related note, finals start tomorrow for me. I have been studying and writing papers nonstop for over a week and I still feel like I might fail miserably. Why? Because I'm an idiot. Crap.

Man up and go to Junior College like they all do in California. That way you can get in without applying and in 2 years, transfer without an essay.
