I shot Peter a few messages recently with no return. I also thought that they looked sick but they probably will never come out. Bummer

it probably has to due with it being:

heavy
expensive
not the new bb standard
godly
....

basically i cant imagine that the market would support it
Are you serious? They are of a decent weight, (getting numbers now), on par with any quality crankset for price, hell the new saint crankset is $425, run FSA mega external bearings and are a really good looking set of one piece machined aluminum.

The market would definitely support them and many people including myself are waiting for them.

Your an idiot.

SIC-NESS (Not Everyday Standard Stuff) Crankset is USA-MADE!
DH/FR/4X/AM
-165, 170, and 175mm crankarm lengths
-68/73 or 83mm BB spindle lengths
-CNC machined and T-6 heat treated 7050Al arms and spider
-2-piece design guarantees adjustability without compromising strength or weight.
-Removable/replaceable 4-bolt spider
-FSA Mega Exo external BB cups with sealed cartridge bearings.
-Oversized crankarms are durable. Heavily relieved design concentrates strength and stiffness in critical areas.
-24mm oversized, splined 4130 chromoly spindle for increased strength and instantaneous power transfer.
-Colors available: Black or Raw Anodized

Way too many pointless style curves and stress concentration points. Lots of places where there is extra metal doing nothing, and other spots with sharp inside corners in high stress areas. Don't get me wrong, I'm a CNC machining nut, but only where it's actually useful. An I-beam shape will never be as strong/stiff/light in torsion as a hollow-forged design like shimano.

Also, bolt on spiders often creak.

My 2 cent.

I got an email back from Peter at SIC...
The crankset should be out in a few weeks and have a very reasonable price of around $300.

Nice, thanks for the update. $300 isn't too bad. Just paid a couple hundred for some gravity lites.
