Don't normally post a whole lot on the board, but after the weekend me and my buddy had at Timberline, I want everyone to know how awesome the place is. Super cheap (think half the price of Snowshoe) but just about as good as Snowshoe. Not as many rock drops and things as Snowshoe, but a ton of high speed wide open super fun trails. There's definitely some rocks and gaps, but I think the best part was how fast you can go without worry about popping a tire every 20 feet. Lots of old ATV trails too full of ruts that make for some nice sets of doubles (again super high speed).

On top of the riding, you can camp there for FREE. You can even bring your camping equipment up the lift and camp at the top if you feel like it. And the lift runs from 10-6, they don't close it early and run a shuttle for the rest of the day. If sleeping on the ground isn't your thing, they have places to stay for as low as 16 bucks. But for 16 bucks I'd rather get the all-you-can-eat pork ribs on saturday night at the bar there.

I would highly highly highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. If you've been riding Wisp or Snowshoe all summer, now is the perfect time to skip a weekend and head to Timberline. Just get in touch with jrnolan on the board and he will hook you up. There are so many trails at this place, you'll need him to show you around a bit just so you get a feel for the place.

Anyway, attaching a bunch of the pics we took from the weekend. That's me on the green Bottlerocket and my buddy Neal on the gray Trek.

Seriously, go to this place, you will have an awesome time.

We did not pull out on anything. There was no contract signed, we never got to that point. We could not come to agreement with USA Cycling. The budget demands that USA Cycling placed on Timberline stopped the process. USA Cycling was going to make plenty of money while Timberline would take a big financial hit. The budget was totally one sided in USA Cycling favor, no where near a win-win deal.

Timberline and I are not the cause of "kids" going out West.

Your post is rude. If you think that USA Cycling has no fault for this change of venue and that Timberline is to blame, you are flat out wrong.

God forbid a mountain that does not make much money as it is in the summer make a decision that keeps them from taking a huge hit. How about you ask why it happened instead of being a d-bag and throwing out an insult. JR does everything he can to make that mountain all about the riders...I know this first hand as I was part of the first guys to go up there and help build some features (you can thank JR and Myself for the big gap) if you ever get off your high horse long enough to go ride.

Many good things will and are coming to Timberline...you guys rock. Sorry I havent been back in a year but that crash (remember when we built the hip with jake?) left me with a blown out left knee that needs surgery. I have just started riding again somewhat consistently. I am going to try and get up there with a few friends in a week or so.

Keep up the good work JR!
