I would also spring for both a top cap as well as a hoodie if they aren't a million dollars each. The Hoodie would have to fit, though. My Endless hoodie was an XL, but it I think the XL was for little kids because it choked me out.

Okay, so RM gear hasn't sold all that well in the new store.

Generally speaking, if you haven't bought RM stuff, why not? Is it a matter of the available gear not being what you want, or do you guys just not want to buy Ridemonkey merchandise? Please vote on the poll and post up - we want to hear!

All of this stuff is changeable - designs, colors, types of gear available... We just need to know what you guys want to see.
Green Ano Ridemonkey stem topcaps would be pretty sweet. Cheap too, several LBS's over here do them. I bet you'd sell one to everyone in here.

Honestly I'm not a fan of the shirts. I like the evolution graphic, but the logo treatment is kind of clunky. Put logo on the back between shoulder blades, get rid of that useless line on the front, put it on a charcoal grey... sold.

If there was a subtle jersey I'd buy it for sure. By subtle I mean, simple as opposed to racer-boy design. I'd buy some shorts too if they had a good chammy and a monkey on my ass.

[EDIT] Slogan: Ride your monkey off.

I did the artwork and tried to help out with the gear and was promised free gear in exchange. It would be nice to finally see that happen...

Also, the previous owners used to hype the products and make it a big deal and get people excited rather than quietly opening a store. For the most part this is a drinking and riding lounge and those are the people that buy the drink hard stuff, but I hear the shirts are cheapo and H8R was not asked to participate, so I guess you get what you pay for. Or not. Whatever.

Personally, I have too many T-shirts already; no T-shirts for me. I would buy a topcap, and $10 would be appropriate.

Other ideas:
chainstay protector
kid pyjamas (for 12 mo, 2T, 3T)
beanie or Turtle Fur hat (like you see at REI)

PS. I would prefer a non-drinking logo as well.
Rider by nature. Monkey by choice.
...Wait. What was the question again?

I haven't been riding much lately so having RM gear makes me feel like a poser.

Once I start riding more I can buy more RM stuff.

I want RM condoms.

Let's get H8R to turn out some goodness like he did last year when him and I financed the only (and greatest quality) RM hoodies.

We need to step it up and make them pornographic (with some wrap around action) this year of course.

I have bought a few RM items. All of them were discussed and made of, by and for the people here and that was part of the appeal of them. Now that the items are churned out by the new Corporate Ridemonkey Machine™ they're somehow less appealing. Having actual monkies able to provide services like printing (h8r) or laser engraving (greyhound) and NOT supporting them makes the stuff less appealing still. Keep the business "in the family".

Just my $.02. ($0.0209272 CAD)

Keeping it in the family is all well and good when it's in the US. But getting items that are quite frankly pretty generic, from the US makes no sense when you're based in Canada.

It might make more sense soon with your worthless american currency. But by and large, a T-shirt isn't exactly a specialty item. It would be silly not to get them locally.

Come out with a new era fitted RM hat and I would buy 10. :thumb::weee:

rather than that I don't buy **** w/Forum logos on it.
Ball Caps - Did either of you order them from me when I got them done? I have a few left in the basement. They're not the trucker cap style, but a lower profile, curved bill and the monkey logo embroidered on it. PM if you're interested.

Beanies - I have a few left of those as well.

I like the evolution shirt okay, but don't like black t shirts. The 90s are over.
I like the design of the evo shirt. The quality of them kind of reminds me of those old iron on deals when I was a kid. In my opinion they were overpriced for the actual quality of the shirt. That alone kind of has me a bit reluctant to purchase any thing else.

Another nondrinker here also.

It should remind you of iron on deals - because it is a heat transfer. However, this isn't like the ones you did as a kid its a professional-grade heat transfer.

Disadvantage is that the designs must be simple, and it can't do shading. However, in terms of longevity, it actually lasts a lot better than silk screening. It won't crack and fade over time, it will be just as vibrant forever.

The big advantage is it allows us to do smaller runs - so if we only ever sell 1 or 2 shirts of a design, its no problem.

Trust me though, we've had test shirts in the wash for a good 150-200 rounds and they don't fade or fall apart.

If you have a problem with quality (whether you are unhappy with your current product, or it falls apart) we will gladly refund your money and take the shirt back.

We're here to make you happy... please don't hesitate to reach out!

Jimmy is in charge of the store backend, and can always be reached at store@ridemonkey.com. You can hit me up too at mr.bishop@ridemonkey.com. We're here to help and to please, so don't hesitate to use the email addresses!

You can also call the office directly at 514.448.2760 if you need anything, or don't want to wait for an email response!

Heat tranfers do have a bit of a leg up on screen printed designs, if the printed designs are not properly cured.

Basically garment decoration breaks down into:

Embroidery.

Heat transfers - indirect vinyl film applied with heat and pressure (cotton, polyester and blended fabrics). These can either be screen printed onto transfer paper with PVC inks (plastisol) or cut from vinyl film by a plotter. Durable.

Sublimation transfers - indirect sublimation dye applied with heat and pressure - synthetics (polyester) only - very soft, good for jerseys. Can be printed via a typical inkjet onto transfer paper.

Direct-to-garment digital printing. This is basically a giant inkjet printer with a shirt board. Advantage - small runs with almost no prep. 1 piece at a time. Disadvantage: VERY slow. Not good for long runs.

Screen printing - direct application of ink film or dye via a screen stencil. Best for long runs of 24 pieces or more. The process differs in the ink systems used:

Plastisol - this is the most common ink used. It is a PVC resin that is not "dried" onto the shirt. It is fused to the shirt (cured) via heat. Very durable if cured properly but will crack over time. Disadvantage: thick ink film required for opacity leaves a stiff "hand" to dark garments. Older formulas contain potentially toxic phthalates. Ink clean up and disposal can be hazardous to the environment if not done properly.

Water based - most are acrylic resin inks. Newer formulations resemble plastisol in quality and performance, with a slightly softer feel on dark garments and a VERY soft feel on light garments. Ink clean up and disposal can be hazardous to the environment if not done properly, however newer ink formulas have low to zero toxicity and can be rendered drain safe and biodegradable with ink degradents. Disadvantage: generally not "bleed" resistant. Polyester or blended garments may have dyes that migrate into the ink film over time, modifying the final color and reducing brightness.

Water-based discharge - this is similar to standard acrylic resin water based inks with the addition of a zinc-formaldehyde formula that "discharges" the garment dye (bleaches it out) that leaves the natural light color of the fabric underneath. 100% cotton fabrics only. Bright colors can be printed on dark garments with a very thin ink film leaving a soft feel. Disadvantages: formaldehyde is nasty stuff. Garments MUST be washed before wearing to avoid skin irritation. Production environment is hazardous. Formaldehyde-free formulation exist but at the cost of reduced performance.

__

Out of all the above, I use water based ink. Easy(er) on the environment and easy to work with. Properly cured these inks are extremely durable and remain flexible and soft. I have not yet discovered a good quality discharge formula that is not toxic and awful to work with. I do not use plastisol inks.

gots one of those. very nice but the sizing was a bit off, xxl fits like an xl but other than that, it's a nice hoodie.
XXL and larger sizes are always the hardest to nail down, and usually have the most variance, even in the same batch of shirts.

If there is a particular hoody (or other garment) that everyone is a fan of they should sound off, especially the big guys.
