yea they're testing it on some of their WC guys. Gwin /etc have had it on their bikes as well back at sea otter too.
thanks, i thought so. i hadnt seen it on anyone's bike till this race.
i could see a benefit on the rear shock to have it on there

Ok, I have the bike modeled in Linkage and it's not a I-drive. The leverage Ratio looks nice, It's a standar rising rate (3.0-2.2 Aprox). The most interesting part is the BB movement. In the first part of the travel the BB rotates backwards, but in the last part it rotates to the front. If you have seen the chaingrow of the Lapierre DH you'll see that the new bike works in a similar way...

Interesting BB movement. Sounds like they're trying to create a pocket around the sag point and use the chain tension to reduce suspension movement under pedaling.

Where did you get the geometry?

Why? Inquisitive minds want to know more and learn...

We all know that Linkage is only marginally accurate, but in this case Vrock may have revealed their design intent, which is pretty novel. Decoupling not only the axle path and leverage rate, but also the chain growth from the axle path. More design flexibility and the ability to keep the axle path you want while tuning the chain induced anti-squat.

So I'm a bike nerd. Shoot me.

Ok, so the RED link is actually pushing the blue BB link, right? BB is not being pulled by the chain. And BB link is attached to the main-frame, not swingarm. But I don't see how BB could move forward in the 2nd part of travel. :think:

Nice graphic!

Have a look at the red line compared to the front edge (facing of the front of the bike) of the blue triangle. The red line will push until it's co-linear with the front edge of the blue triangle, and beyond that it will pull the blue triangle.

If the apex of this little BB curve is at the sag point, then this accomplishes what the mythical S-shaped axle path of the V10 was supposed to, except via the BB rather than the axle path.

The Lapierre 2011 Press camp is on right now in Chatel France, lots of media are there and we'll have plenty of information for them to hand out to the masses. Very shortly you'll have all the technical documents you need :)

Technical data will be great. But I think another big question that a lot of people on here are interested to know is: will this frame be available in the US? :thumb:

No I didnt try it, I have exams now, no time for it but have you even tried to use linkage? Most of the geo numbers are off in it but the lev. curves are fairly similar to the ones in real life, even taken from side photos. Have you even tried linkage?

Also is your only reason to live pointing out what you think is stupid on the internetz? If you have too much time on your hands go do something. Maybe get weed legalised in your area. Im pretty sure it might do you some good...

yes i have tried linkage. and i know if you dont have PROPER data, then you are pretty much guessing at the bike's design, especially when NOTHING about the bike has been discussed

And you did not notice that without it sometimes you can get it right? Have you noticed that the poster you were commenting did not claim that he was 100% right? It was a cool idea that MIGHT be right and some people got interested. Seriously you are a sad man if everything you see in your life must be the worst possible option. Really chill because your angst starts to get annoying. Seriosuly find something positive in your life.

You do realise that your idea of positive is a bit off balance?
Also

Where am I talking out of my ass? I did no armchair engineering as you suggest I did, I only suggest that if you have nothing to add can just simply keep your mouth shut? The first post may have been a wild guess but its better than nothing as long as we have no info. Ive seen some bike curves taken from photos that were really close so why this one cant also be? Forums are for sharing opinions and ideas, you seem to have a problem with that and seem to think that they are for being always right and being negative. Man it must be awkward to be your friend.


Sirbikealot - will it be french only? Im really curious what they will reveal and using google translate for even a bit technical language forks really bad. Especialy with French for some reason.

They are and I partialy agree with you. I only claim that it may be inaccurate but its still a better basis for speculation before we get to the press release than someones head suspension animations. I was just suggesting to be more open minded since we dont have much info atm anyway.
