I'm having a hard time getting into MW3 after about 2 hours of play but I think it's because I played Black Ops SO much. I'll tell ya though -- been playing Gears of War 3 the past few weeks and that game blows nuts.
ok, i'm downloading...hope the single player is worth playing
its actually pretty good. and the story falls finishes were the others left off. it wasnt as short as BF3 too. it only took me around 4:40
This is a dumb question, but is multi-player limited by platform?
The mpas are trash for sniping which I would really pefer to do. Quick scope is a no no. I like it though. Been playing gow3 alot aswell.

i only play hardcore in bf3. sick of the repetitiveness in COD. its pretty much an expansion to mw2.
bf3 has way better graphics and 64 man servers are awesome on some of the huge maps. at least on pc, i cant speak for console, but all of the COD games look the same to me.
also, takes teamwork to win a match in bf3.

Should someone with a bolt action run around? ......
no one said to use a sniper rifle on these small maps...or even on larger maps from BlOps. a assualt rifle with the ACOG or holographic is nearly as good at range
Multiplayer maps are smaller on consoles then on PC.
Number of players is also limited to 24.
Right but like I said I perfer to snipe and with the layout of the maps there really are not good places. There is a ton of buildings in every map. A little variation would be nice.

I was more interested if PC's can play against consoles (never done console multi). Sounds like a no.
the CoD Elite option was really nice to have. i went from level 18 to 36 in 2 hours
Somehow my local redbox had the game and I have a free 1 night game rental coupon, so I will be checking mw3 out tonight.
U can do exactly the same with an m16 and red dot sight. U can shoot someone from across the map with that set up.
Also maps are so small that someone will run in to you in 20 seconds max...
MW does a lot of things very well but sniping is definitly not one of them.
Console players would get annihilated by PC players using mouse and keyboard...
Yes but I would rather take one shot to kill the guy and keep my beast ass 30% accuracy up. In MW2 maps line the one wit the plane in the middle..shee what is it called I dont know but it had a hill and bunkers and a cave, maps like that you could actully shoot someone at distance.

Damn I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like this game. I can find a match in black ops or gow 3 in no time but it takes 5 min+ to find one in mw3. Also, I don't think the maps are nearly as fun.
Please tell me that I'm not the only one having these connectivity issues though. I have been sitting here for around 10 minutes now and can't connect to any match even though there are over 100k people playing kill confirmed right now.

I havent really had connectivity problems. Been playing every night since I got it and it has been relatively trouble free. Very few server changes and only had games dropped a couple times. Which is good for how many people must be on. BO the first week was a nightmare. I like the maps, but I run and gun. Seems to be quite a lot of people camping so far.
at night is when itll sometimes takes 1-2 minutes to find a game but thats the worst that ive experienced.
some of the maps are great but id love a some more huge maps like BlOps has
It just took me over 20 minutes to find a match but I'm on xbox. Apparently it is happening to a lot of people - I really hope they fix it soon. The maps are starting to grow on me though.
The only real problem I have is you seem to spawn right in front of people. Hopefully, they can fix that.
that pisses me off so bad. especially when u watch the kill cam and see yourself pop up in front of someone for a easy kill
The other thing is people spawning right behind you. I hate being on a good roll, then getting killed and watch the kill can have the guy appear right behind you for an easy pop shot.
Haven't waited more than a minute or so to get into a match on my xbox. The spawn killing issue is annoying, but apparently i read today it is being fixed shortly? Hope so. The maps are definitely growing on me, albeit it a tad small.
Looks like I'm buying it as soon as the spawning issue is fixed. How did they not see that coming? Did they not do beta testing?
WTF - my NAT is open I don't get it. Thing is, I was only waiting 3-5 minutes before the most recent update (yesterday) and now it's taking 10+. Once I'm in a room, all is good unless everyone leaves but switching game types sucks.
The spawning is annoying, but nothings really bothered me too much. BEat the campaign in what felt like 2 hours without any real difficulty.
Getting used to the new maps and gameplay with guys that are already 70/80 kinda sucks. I seem to kill like 7 people while dying 30 times. oh well.

I have been spawn killed maybe once, I am starting to like the maps a little more but still would like a map where a sniper rifle can be validated.
dude tell me about it! i feel like i unload on someone and they just pop pop and im dead. by the way, anyone notice how ridiculously over powered the type 95 is?
Wow, thoroughly unimpressed. Took me 5:15 to beat the single player based on the game's timer. The story is good but not especially entertaining or surprising. I figured it would be short, but most reviews said 6-8 hours. I guess it's good to complete the story line, but yeah, no surprises (besides maybe the start of the last mission) and ultra short SP gameplay is just sad. MW2 was short but had a good story, COD was terrible and bad and horrible and short, I guess I just wanted to finish the story.
Maybe I've been spoiled by playing games like half-life and the psuedo-RPG mass effect, but damn. Even the multiplayer is the same "oh look, the camper got a helicopter, again", run around and shoot. the SP definitely was short but still thankfully longer then BF3 which took me a little over 3 hours. the 5 hours it took me to beat MW3 was in line with the last 3 CoD games, so to me, it wasnt a big surprise to its length...and you cant really compare newer FPS games to the massive games of Mass Effect or even the shorter Half Life. im really looking forward to the new Mass Effect since that game is pretty damn long and im hoping for another Fallout

I'm tempted to go back and play mw1-3 in order. I remember the first one being considerably longer....but maybe I'm wrong. For a while, I couldn't play MW2 nor BO due to a bug, so I picked up COD4 multiplayer again and it was pretty fun....less customizable but focused more on combat and movement than killstreaks and chaos. MW3 mp does feel more even and balanced...I'm consistently middle of the pack or higher, whereas on MW2 I sucked. Actually, I used a hack to level up in that game, because I couldn't bear to play my way up to level 70 or whatever.
Anyways...MW3 feels like a rehash of MW2 and not necessarily an upgrade/update....I don't regret buying it but i wouldn't do it again if i had the choice.
