huehuehe...
def gunu be muddy and cold, but fuk it maan
According to the "it will change 100 times in the next" 10 day forecast, New Years is looking like a good day to go ride a bike at Windham. Not so sure the snowboarding would be any good, but this dude is planning on heading out to ride for two days. *IF* the forecast is decent and the trails remain open

I'll hit you guys up if the weather and my schedule allows me to make the trip out. 10 hour drive followed by riding alone and sleeping in my car will get rather unfun if I don't find someone to share the love with haha

was also a bit upset they announced it so late but then i realized its only two of their trails and imo, not worth a 5.5hr drive each way

Yea, but the 2 trails that are open are 3+ miles long and if you could ski/board on the same day that would be awesome
Surprised Platty wouldn't open up - with the way this winter is looking better get people on the mountain any way you can
so in other words, 50% of their terrain is open....:D[/QUO

I was surprised too, their reply was that they would be too busy making snow (12/19 and 12/20). I don't profess to be a professional snowmaker, but it sure seems to me that the resorts blowing snow are wasting money with this long stretch of temps in the 50's WITH rain.

It's supposed to clear 60* today here in Michigan.....breaking out the fatbike I suppose is my only option.

if they can blow it faster than it melts, they're gonna blow snow. probably.

20" fell yesterday in parts of the CO mountains, good day for powder up in the resorts. Although not if you're trying to get across hwy 50 on Monarch Pass where a 7ft deep avalanche buried the road.

That is kind of my point, two days of blowing snow only to have all of it melt during a week long period of 50's and rain doesn't seem like good business sense. You're not going to maintain much of a base to make that worth your time.

Too flat for a dh bike. It was my first time there, I wish I had taken the trail bike. I got there early when everything was frozen solid and the jumps were still pretty slow. It got worse as the ground thawed.
