I'm thinking about coming up because I'm really craving some true gravity riding.
But having recently moved to Austin TX, Windrock is really far away. Anyone between Austin and Knoxville wanna meet up and do some road tripping together?
the length of the shock reservoir as was mentioned by others above bugs me.
I'd love to try one of these in the 8.75x2.75 size if I knew the reservoir would fit in my 2007 sx trail. Looking at the photos, I don't see how it could possibly fit though.
Do you know if the shuttle you have is for high or low bb?
If it is for the low bb, then I'm not sure I'd go with the 215mm shock because that will be really low. Like 13" bb. I haven't heard of anyone doing that setup so I'd be careful to cycle the shock through its full range before taking...
I run 22/36 with an 11-32 cassette. I'm happy with it for now but there will be some small changes if/when the granny gear needs replaced. With the large span between the 22 and 36 tooth shifting in the front is iffy. Some days I shifts perfectly all day long and I have absolutely no...
Do you have both shock shuttles for the adjustable geometry?
You can put a 222mm eye to eye shock on for sure. If you have the shuttle for high bottom bracket then when you put the 222mm shock on, it will have about the same geometry as if you had the stock shock and the low bb shuttle...
Super nice photos man. Thanks for bringing the camera out and taking them.
The weather was freaking amazing in spite of the forecast for snow I read a few days before.
Big thanks to the Louisiana crew for letting me get in on some shuttles all weekend and a major thanks to steve for pushing...
Hope everyone is having a happy turkey day. Just wanted to check in and see what time people were planning on arriving. I'm probably going to get there 930 or so.
looks like the possible showers for this weekend have been removed from the forecast. Still seems pretty cold and windy but...
I don't think the term 'flat' has anything to do with the sweep of the bar. Flat means the bar has no rise between the stem and the inner edge of where your handgrip sits. Yes, having an upsweep would mean these two areas don't reside in the same plane, but there isn't an bend in the bar to...
Sweet! I'm probably going to plan on being there then! Anyone from between Eastern KY and Carter's want to meet up for a car pool? My route will take me down through knoxville.
Will there be a beginner class or something like that?
I've never been to Carter's and I'm wondering if this would be a good event for my first downhill race. I've ridden at Windrock a few times as well as some lift assisted stuff but never participated in a race.
I am planning on trying to...
I couldn't shuttle on Thursday as I don't think my grandmother would be too happy if I came to visit on turkey day and went biking instead...haha.
As far as the leafy trails are concerned, I'd be more than happy to pitch in a few hours one day to do some raking. If people are interested in...
Hey guys, I'll be near Windrock from Wednesday to Sunday around Thanksgiving. I know a few guys mentioned previously that they would be riding that weekend. I'd love to get a couple of days of riding in but I wanted to see what days other people were going to be there. I'd be more than happy...
what kind of cranks do you have?
As was mentioned above, shimano outboard bottom brackets have a habit of being dry of grease and creaking like there is no tomorrow. Mine have been creaking for a couple months when I discovered that they the bearings are actually user servicable (even though...
I have had my sx for about a year and it has been the best bike purchase I ever made. My riding has progressed unimaginably since I got it.
I can't recommend the sx enough. It is amazing.
Had a great time this weekend guys! thank to everyone for great work on the trails and putting the vent together. I'll be drinking a beer tonight from my cane creek pint glass that should have been a double barrel...
Anyone heading down over thanksgiving? I know it is a month away but after...
sounds great guys.
I've ridden at WR a couple of times but conditions were never great. First time I was there on my AM bike with a pretty light weight fork and it just wasn't up to the task.
By the time I came back I'd acquired my current ride (SX trail) but got a flat on my second run and...
