Portland is one of the few places that I would even consider leaving NC for. My wife has family out there and we have spent Summer and Winter Vacations out there.
Stay in touch.

I hate that I had to miss the first two. Good to see all of the old dudes again (Chuck and Butch to name two). I was also very impressed with all of the <19 year olds and just how fast they were. Not to mention how cool the vibe was. Racing is alive and well in NC.
I am glad I came out...
I only rode one at the Demo at Lake Crabtree. I will say this the bike is freaking fast. Note, I am coming off of a 30 lb Reign with 6 inches of travel and a 650b front wheel.
It did not ride overly harsh. I liked the geometry for XC. Definitely ride one, if for nothing else the experience.
Brian,
Hard to pity someone when they make such bad decisions. I don't want to make light of her situation, but she got herself into it. It is probably going to be a while before she is out of trouble for this. Hopefully she will recover form her injuries and learn from her mistakes. Glad...
I still say you are lucky you guys were not standing by the Jeep when she came around the corner. Maybe they will catch her and then you can sue her. I hear Farris is a Litigator...
I rode them on my Reign. Mine were 1900g and I ran them tubeless. Never had to true them in 10 months of riding, not that I was doing any Dj's, but I rode them everywhere incuding a couple of Super D's. They are DH strong, but AM light. I now have a lighter set of wheels for my local XC, but...
I have been running rhino lite XL's for about 7 years. They may not be the strongest, but for their weight they are very strong. Not to mention they are cheap. I run mine ghetto tubeless now and have good success. I run a 26/24 combo and have been very pleased with the durability. Back in...
Great link Butch!
So, I am looking at the Michelin info on the web and see that the comp 16 and 24 come in 2.2 and 2.5. Yet the weight difference on these is like 100g!? Is there a noticable size difference between the 2.2 and 2.5? Which size do you use for DH? and why? Do they both use...
March 2008 MBA pages 126-7 "Inside the Pro's Bikes". Hern-dog has a 2 page spread on his winning machine. Congrat's again!
For the record, I usually don't buy MBA, but when I saw Chris's picture I had to get one. BTW, can I get an autograph?

43, Dang, I thought I was getting old!:clapping:
Let us know when you are coming back to NC for a ride in the Triangle. Next time we can hit Carolina North, in Chapel Hill.
http://www.utahmountainbiking.com/ Making Truck bed bikerack, third from the bottom in featured articles. Sorry I had to fix the link. It is right now.
$20 bucks and transportable in the bed of my Tacoma. The only thing I changed was the shortest pieces for the tire width. The 1 3/4...
This bike is brand new, never ridden. I was the lucky winner of the annual SORBA bike drawing. I really do not need another XC bike. Wheel World has the same bike for sale in their California stores for $1299.99. http://wheelworld.com/itemdetails.cf...gId=39&id=4286 The original price is...
I have a spare. Quite frankly the frame is getting old. I am more worried about it than the shock.
Never been to Diablo. I want to go next year. I race in the Southeast. Beech Mtn back in the day and no further north than Snowshoe. I am kind of surprised I have only ever seen one other...
MSRP in 1997 was $5400 and that was with a RS Judy DHO:disgust:. Like many riders I worked at a shop then and got the EP price. The thing weighs right at 40lbs(the magic number) and rides great. As a matter of fact, I just got a gently used 05 Boxxer WC for it. I will have it on a week or so.
Speaking old Schwinn's. Here is my first generation Straight 6 in "Bass Boat Blue". I got it in 97 and I am still riding it.

Only one week left to comment. Please take a few minutes to ask for singletrack at Lake Jordan. Every comment adds up.
