    Looking for an inexpensive 29er

I have a pretty nice Karate Monkey that I have to sell to pay lawyer's fees. That will leave me without a bike. Does anyone know of an inexpensive versatile 29er? Maybe a frame that I could run single until I pinch the pennies enough to give up shifty bits. I prefer steel, but will go nuts...

    Anyone run a front rack?

Thanks. I have an old man mountain rear rack now. They make nice stuff anyone used one on the front. I really like Mark's flatrack on the Riv site. Seems a bit pricey when you have to purchase another rack to use it. Anyone tried a front nice rack on a monkey?

    Itunes/ipod help....

Does anyone know an alternative that works with the touch? Winamp worked with my old one, but not the touch. itunes wont work with wine, and none of the linux music players/managers seem to work with the touch.:banghead:

Riding on some new Tires - Racing Ralph 2.4 in front Mountain King 2.4 in back

Have you tried them in sand? There is alot of hardpack and sand where I'm from. I always think a good mud tire will work well in the sandy stuff around here, and they never do.

Same Monkey. New bars...and shifters...and levers

Ha Ha. Thanks. Yes I love that saddle. It is perfect for my sit bones. I rarely ride with a chamois. I want a Brooks, but hate to mess with what works. For me it's kind of like Lebowskis' rug. Really ties the bike together. LOL

No they are origin 8 gary. No it's the stock KM fork. It just has an evidence tape sticker from work on it. I thought it would be funny. Here's a bigger pic...

    Anyone tried "alternative bars"

So I just had a birthday, and got some origin 8 gary bars, a pair of bar end shifters, and tektro's long pull road levers. topped off with some of Soma's thick and zesty bar tape, and my foray into the "alternative" lifestyle begins. Anyone else tried the koolaid? Thoughts? Impressions?

New guy to the forum with a Karate Monkey

Here she is in several incarnations. I still have the nanoraptors, just not the fork. I ride it rigid, with no problems. We are pretty flat here. Sorry for the link. My pics are too big.

New guy to the forum with a Karate Monkey

Oh it's for my daughters trail-a-bike-thingy. She's six, and we rode everywhere this past summer. She's a real trooper. We rode a 40mile charity ride, and she did the whole thing. She was like my little coach back there yelling at me when I would coast:busted:
