Finally a good nights sleep - FINNALLY.

Had a good talk with the bank this morning. My guy at the bank is a more conservative and its a good to have someone to ad that view point. I looked at a house that needs a lot of renovation to be nice not just liveable and the asking price is does simply not reflect the work needed.

Commuter bike sells never got back to me. More money saved!

I got 4.5hrs sleep but felt good.

I am in no way biased...... but Whyte Sterlings or Portabellos were pretty nice(but I guess I know nothing about commuters).
It's not steel and won't get you in with the hipsters but they were made as a flat bar frame rather than just putting flats on a drop bar frame. The Tektro brakes are reliable, there's rack and mudguard mounts and the stack height is almost boomer friendly.

Fairly easy day at work but it was hot about 38 deg Croissant with no airflow.
Had a weird one at the end of the day, intermittent no hydraulics and no drive, turned out the gas pedal was fly by wire and wasn't always coming back to the zero position.

Seems my Pixel Phone has poo pooed so it's back to a 5yo Sony running Sailfish OS, was surprised that there are still updates for it.
21/9 aspect ratio screen is dumb, I need a thumb extension.

Up at typical early time. Finishing up a couple projects that folks want for Xmas gifts.

Had 20 tons of 53’s delivered while I was waiting in line at the ethanol plant. Scraped mud and made a nice loading pad. Things should go better today.
Should have done this years ago. Dumb ass.

I know what you are saying but I was just looking at a bike that had a little fun and didn't look like the rest of the bunch of boring gray commuter bikes. I am also looking at some belt drive internal gear bikes to make @iRider happy. I am just going to allow myself to get something fun and nice as I already have a boring commuter bike.

Also, one of our interns is leaving on Friday and there is an electronic goodbye card we can write something in.

First entry was 100% written by our AI chat bot thing. How do I know? Because I also asked it to "write a short goodbye for a card, addressed to a coop student named xxxx. She worked in IT." And it gave me the exact same response.

It's Tuesday. It's Taco Tuesday at the Elks Lodge and I don't think I will go. I'm pretty sure it's bad based on the food I've had so far and that's all been American food. I can only guess how gringo Taco Tuesday might be. I'm sure I will go eventually just to show support, but not yet. The second Wednesday of every month is Spaghetti Wednesday which I'm sure is also awful, but next month it's fund raising for the Vietnam 50th, so I will have to go.

The Elks subreddit is pretty damn interesting, though. Obviously no way to validate membership, but the stories are pretty crazy. I'm well aware that our lodge is special due to a lack of other club type options (we don't even have a golf course here), but it's still damn ghetto.

Have to meet the city planner and city engineer on the town lots today, wish they would just issue the damn permit.

In other news,

kinda have post partum from the pile of RMSS shit that was living on the counter for the last couple weeks. sniffle, kinda miss the stuff, hate to see it go but it was never meant to be long term.

And it came to pass, on the day following the first day of the dismantling of mine house, I did rise from a deep slumber and found my body sore and stiff. And the great and merciful @FSM did provide unto me the cup of coffee to quicken my spirit and sharpen my mind, and He did give unto me the balm of ibuprofen to ease the aching of my bones. Ra-men.

And it was observed that the joists of mine olde house, having endured the trials of an hundred years, were sorely weathered and in great need of repair.

Found some photographs from BMX racing days - but not any you could buy after a raceday. These were taken by my cousin before there were potatoes. Realized they were 37 years old - hilarious.
