Back in the house with my boys was nice. Feeling the love. We are all excited about our vacation. Going to bid on a nice commuter bike today. I guy has it for sale used. Low balling him a little. Also has fender and a rack out front plus nice integrated bar and stem in same color as frame. Come standard with lights and dynamo front hub.

Like the specs except the saddle. Never understood why Brooks are so popular. The leather is not good in rainy Denmark and I think the fit is horrible.

Long weekend of Christmas related activities. No riding or outdoor activities. For someone who isn't very social, that was RUFF!

At the family get together yesterday, I over heard plans of another get together, but this time on Christmas day. Nope, no can do. Perhaps it is selfish, but Christmas day is one of those days where I'd like to wake up and not have anything expected of me other than eat some food, give some gifts and lounge around in my pajamas. Maybe go for a ride and drink some beers. Plus, isn't that why us Canaderps have boxing day off?

ANYWAYS, back to the regular program.

At work. But on the way to building A, I forgot that I told building C that'd I'd go there today. So will do that later....

Mission of the current hour is to go find coffee.

And it came to pass on the eighth day that the Lord did bestow upon me a hammer. And lo, when no craftsmen did answer my call, I perceived that I must needs wield the hammer with mine own hand. And as I beheld the dismantling of mine house, I did smile and lift mine heart in thanksgiving unto the Lord, for His provision was sufficient for me.

Morning. Anxiously awaiting the final piece of my RMSS gift so I can get it sent out. Should have been here by now but alas, it is not. if it doesn't arrive by the end of the week, I will mail without it and send it as a followup package.
2hour delay this AM was a nice surprise (as was the 3-4" of snow we got overnight). Side roads are slick but the main roads are fine. Last 5 days of school for the year and I am out of the office until Jan. 6th! I can not happy dance enough....its been a LONG fall semester.

Spent an hour trying to fix a shifting issue on the fatbike. Chain was a little long, removed a set of links. The B screw was a little loose. Hopefully that's it. I should probably replaced the cable and housing.

I shall go test that shortly.

that bike looks awesome. agree that the one silver nipple is suspect, but not if it matches on the other side. People break shit, news at 11. Standert makes cool bikes and that looks well equipped for derping to work duty

WFH day and I've got so much shit to do that I don't know where to begin so I figure the best way to attack this is to not do any of it.

We got a "wintery mix" roll through, making a mess of road conditions, so I hit the treadmill for 9 miles of hard running and now I am tired. Then I climbed into the hot tub for 30 minutes.

Our puppy has giardia and has been ordered to quarantine for two weeks, so Wife will go skiing on Christmas Day without me while I watch the dogs. I found a 5K race though and there is lot of live sporty on TV, so I'm going to have a great day! Wife feels bad leaving me alone on Christmas but I can't seem to adequately explain just how much I really don't care. Besides, we paid for season ski passes and they need to get used.

And on the sixteenth day of the month of December, the Lord did raise up unto me Paul, the master carpenter, who hath exceeding great wisdom and strength, and whose skill in building is without equal. And he was sent that he might guide mine hand and my labor, to restore mine house unto its former glory.

Hopefully it was a sledgehammer.
And verily, the hammer was as a mighty sledge.

In DK I think a city commuter bike should have internal gears and a belt, but that is just me.

There a handful of emails in my inbox today from c-level people from over the weekend and a couple from before 5 am this morning asking when I was gonna answer. My big question for the day is do I tell them I am on vacation for the rest of the year or just not answer?

The unfortunate thing is that the questions are important (in my opinion) and I should answer them, but I cannot fucking stand being asked to work for the company on my time.

If you get executive level compensation, yes, you can and should take calls at 3 am on a Saturday. I am an engineer getting engineer-level comp, I work during working hours.

Respond by telling them you are on vacation, and not answer.

Tell them you're happy to answer their questions and emails while you're on vacation, and that your off hours compensation rate is $500 an hour.

Edit: y u no vacation auto-reply?
