Back home in the house as ex-wife is in Iceland with the boys. Zero action on the sale. Hopefully something picks up now summer vacation is Denmark is almost over.

I stay at friends apartment when I am not hope but I can borrow it all of August which I found out yesterday so now I am scrambling for what to do. Giving me some anxiety and just stuff I wish I did not have to bother with right now where I just want to focus on work.

Hopefully a mtb ride later that should be good for the soul and having a friend over for lunch.

Riding the baggage carousel.
Couple houses in the hood have giant apricot trees that are going bonkers right now, dropping fruit all over the sidewalks, street, etc. This morning while walking the dogs the alley that one of these trees overhangs was hosting what I can only describe as a raccoon rager. Had to have been at least a dozen, all pigging out on downed fruit. The dogs of course went ape-shit and the raccoons scattered, but if they had turned on us, there was enough of them that we'd all be dead now.

Wednesday, we meet again. In the office, and as per usual, busy as fuck.

Wife and I are mattress shopping. Sleep Number? Beautyrest? What say you, monkey collective? Most everything we are looking at seems to be in the neighborhood of ~$3,500.

Not a fancy sleeper. Took a chance on a Douglas online mattress. Pleasantly surprised. 365 days refund.

We have a tempurpedic that's adjustable. Purchased through Costco for a significant savings vs elsewhere but still spendy.

Shit day, I have a rule, don't use the sewing machine if you've had a crap sleep.
I did some swearing and gave up after about three hours after achieving almost nothing.
I should read my meditation book.

@Adventurous i should also add that my wife has back issues from the car accident, so a high quality mattress was a necessity. it has absolutely helped her, so I consider it money well spent.
My wife has back issues as well. I'll happily spend a few extra bucks if it means she's comfortable.

I'm tempted by a Sleep Number cause it can be adjusted to compensate for any settling. My biggest worry is finding a mattress that's comfortable initially but gets too soft after the break in period.

Good morning, lmao.

Re: mattress shopping, Wife and I went to Raymour and Flanigan a few years ago and just flopped around on the beds until something felt comfy. We got the adjustable box spring and frame. We chose well. Sleep is good. It wasn't cheap.

Hidey ho neighbor,

I might have a real and correct address for the lots today if the planning dude shows up to work, then I can start on an excavation permit and get the power company to think about a stub out.

Turns out the coax wasn't spectrum, it was ziply fiber, what a weird company, I feel sorry for anyone whom has to work with them.

In other news,

the metal building market is a scam

We have had this for the last seven years: https://www.ghostbed.com/products/the-ghostbed and I absolutely love it. Fuck mattress shopping, and fuck mattress stores. And fuck mattress salesmen.

For a while, I did a fuckload of research into mattresses. I had a college roommate who adored the Tempurpedic, but if you sleep on them they can get really hot. I have cheapo memory foam mattresses for the kids, and can confirm they sleep hot (but are way more comfortable than coil spring mattresses). The hot shit in the industry is latex, which is supportive like memory foam, but offers cooler sleeping and "bounce" for activities (if you still get up to that). Memory foam can feel like you are sinking, so it's hard to get....traction, if you need it.

The Ghost bed has a layer of support foam, on top of that memory foam (like a tempurpedic) then a layer of latex (for support and cooling) then comfort foam on top of that. So, it doesn't compress too much in small spots (like a knee or elbow) but does conform to a shoulder or hip without creating pressure points. The mattress has been super durable too, with minimal sag. Prior to this, we bought a spindle mattress which is all latex with selectable firmness, but found that it was just too firm to be comfortable, and 2gs was too much for a new mattress/not worth it. I won't go back to a coil mattress, but I could be convinced to buy another latex bed.

Hello, how are you. Thanks for coming to my Fred talk.

Thinking about buying a specialized Crux in the next town over. It's cheap, and offers what I want in a commuter/backup bike- fat tires, disk brakes, and cheap.... I'd have to part out the spooky, I think, to get it sold :-/. @Pesqueeb
