So I'm debating getting a Cross frame to replace the Look. I can sell the Look frame/fork for the same cost as a new, generic CX frame, so I should be able to get a used frame with canti's for break-even. Noodle, short carbon Look vs. aluminum, better fitting generic CX frame?

Thunder storm with torrential rain headed directly to my abode, if true riding tomorrow will not be a thing. Today I spent the afternoon getting my new suits fitted, shortened arms and legs plus suspender buttons. Should be ready tomorrow. Also took management and social style "tests" in preparation for my week in Dallas. Turns out I am an analytical driver which is code for asshole fixated on numbers. Who knew?

Do it. You can throw road slicks on a cx bike.

Also, get something with disc brakes.

I'm doing the carry across - everything but brakes (Vee) and headset will be old. I'll be able to get my panniers mounted again, which will be nice too.

Dude trust me. Disc brakes. Even old bb7s. I went that route for my budget cx build and have 0 regrets. Besides, road and cross will be almost exclusively disc within a few years. This isn't the time or place to be a luddite

DC traffic is awful. Thai food is tasty. Trying to house both kids in one room. This could be good or disastrous.

The ghetto ride rises again! This thing is half built from RM. Fork from @jonKranked; frame and wheels from RM familia when I was too poor to buy a bike; pedals, bar, brakes from @Nick; chainring and guide from @SkaredShtles. Really a miscellany of confussion.

Anybody have a 165 or 185mm IS-Post disc adapter for Shimano XT brakes?
